In June of 2008, the Potter’s Clay Ministry was started to support people facing food insecurity in Java, Indonesia. Since then, the ministry has expanded its reach to help families and orphanages in Solo, Situbondo, and Medan, as well as families here in the Pacific Northwest.

The Potter’s Clay Ministry aims to empower fellow believers so they may also be a helping hand to those in need, both locally and around the world. This happens through bible studies, fundraising for Christian missionaries, and sponsoring families and children in poverty who are ministered by local churches and orphanages in Solo, Situbondo, and Medan, Indonesia.

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

Siao Ping and Herman Lim met in Singapore but eventually lived and started a family in Surabaya, Indonesia. Along with their three children, they immigrated to the United States in 1998.

In the last 20 years, they have built a career in the real estate industry, while investing time and energy into the ministry. In their downtime, they enjoy reading, boating, fishing, traveling, and spending time with their two grandchildren, Daniel and Jemma.
